BTECs are career-based qualifications designed to give students the skills they need to move on to higher education or go straight into employment. The BTEC program has been officially taught in Vietnam since 2005. The BTECs include many levels, from the beginner to the Level 8 (Undergraduate degree) which strictly follow the framework of the British Qualifications Framework (NQF). These programs are designed to establish a high standard training system that exists in parallel with National university training programs and to be compatible with the international education system.

When combined with academic learning in a school or college, a BTEC develops a range of practical knowledge and skills which help learners to prepare for – and progress in – their chosen career. Therefore, more employers and Higher Education institutions than ever before are choosing BTEC-qualified candidates for their academic and practical knowledge and skills. Besides, the BTEC – qualified students also can continue study in other higher or top-up programs from a great number of Universities in UK, US, Australia…..

In 2009, NIIE (NTT Institute of International Education) was proud to be one of the first educational institutions in Vietnam teaching the BTECs program.
