On November 15th, after successfully eliminating other teams, the group of 6 excellent NIIE students continued to take part in the final round of “Our Dream” – the English debating competition, which was held by Open University.
The debating competition namely Our Dream, is the one of the most prestigious debating competition which is held annually in Ho Chi Minh City. This year, the “Our Dream” debating competition attracted a great number of outstanding teams from all Ho Chi Minh city’s leading universities such as the Open University, Foreign Trade University, Hutech University, Ton Duc Thang University, Sai Gon Unioversity and Nguyen Tat Thanh Institute of International Education as well.
After the competitive semifinal round, 4 out of 18 students with the most impressive performance were chosen to continue taking part in the final round. Every contestant had their own style and strong personality which were expressed via their enthusiastically persuasive arguments. Among these top 4 participants, Ms. Quach Trinh Tu – the student of Nguyen Tat Thanh Institute of International Education – finally, won the competition with the outstanding number of votes due to her logically convincing performance as well as her impressive English speaking skill. Therefore, apart from the champion cup and certificate, she was additionally awarded another VND5-million-prize
Furthermore, not only won the first prize for the personally most outstanding participant, NIIE students also won the other 3 prizes (out of 5 prizes in total), including the prize for the highest result team, consolation prize, prize for the most enthusiastic fans….
By winning this prestigious English debating competition, NIIE (Nguyen Tat Thanh Institute of International Education) not only drawn many lessons from its counterparts but also gradually strengthened its position in area of international education.
