On 15/06/2016,  the students of BA Top-up programme (15bba02) had a fun time visiting Heineken brewery factory in district 12. In spite of the discouraging start with insane raining, the tour turned out to be amazing

After arrival, our students were greeted by two senior managers with a welcoming video showing the history and achievements of the company. Then, the whole group spent approximately an hour walking around the factory and were amazed by the extremely large-scale production with modern machinery, technology, and the fact that Tiger and La Rue Beer belong to Heineken.

More spectacularly, we also visited the waste treatment area at the end of the tour. Much to our surprise, the whole area felt like a small resort with lots of decorative plants, pavilions, and fish bonds. “We pour some of the waste liquid to the fish bonds to check if it is safe enough that the fishes can survive,” said the manager, “before releasing to the river.”

Finally, to conclude the amazing trip, everyone were given cold, delicious tap beer by the professional hands of Ms. Nicole Baudisch

We expressed our gratitude to the company for hosting the tour and gave the managers NIIE’s thank-you gift; to the students’ delight, the managers gave back each of us a gift before taking some group photos with everyone.
